auto insurance definitions
Does anyone know why an insurance company I was wondering if a couple is "formally engaged?

Are there agents insurance out there that can answer this for me? If you are a man and a woman living in the same house together, you already have insurance – homeowners and auto – But you are looking for a better price, which was the reason for an insurance company ask you this question: "Are you formally committed? What I wonder is – (1) What constitutes "formally" engaged? I mean, there is no legal definition of that thing, right? Y (2) Why is the answer (to a subjective and) impacting on insurance? Oops – obviously the couple is not married. To "Husnain" – Please try to stop get free publicity, answering all your questions to the website. Nobody is fooled. Y – NO – NO had to help me. I guess it just seems silly – it would mean more if he had asked, "Are you getting married soon, because we can give a discount rate as a married couple." Asking, "Are you committed formally? "It just seems like a silly way to word the question.

Sounds maybe like is the property insurance underwriting. Anyway. A commitment formal, is a ring and a date. The impact of a formal commitment to any formal commitment is None. The problem is one of coverage. See, for policy homeowners, for example, the only person who is covered, is the person named. The boyfriend / girlfriend / boyfriend "things and their is not covered. The Insurance companies do not like to write a policy in the name of two different people that are not related (or married), as it eliminates coverage for individuals, under the unpleasant event of a breach or theft and vandalism (happens all the time!) Anyway. Some insurance companies will write a homeowner's policy for a couple with a wedding date in the not too distant future, both in their names.
